2019 marked 200 years since Sir Stamford Raffles founded Singapore. In that time, a tiny colonial trading post has become a proud multicultural nation and one of the world’s most successful economies. Working with the Singapore Bicentennial Office, we conceived of a multi-sensory promenade experience that radically re-presented Singapore’s historic narrative. Visitors experience a five-act theatrical journey that heightens emotions and creates unforgettable memories.
The experience combines the widest possible range of physical and digital techniques. A virtual storm is projected onto water falling within one space. 3D sound, theatrical gauzes backlit with LED screens, and a 360-degree projection space create immersive media experiences in other areas. The final room combines digital displays, mirrors and falling rain, continuing the immersive, multi-sensory experience to the very end.
